Our core values...
1. We are Gospel Centered
The good news of Jesus Christ is at the center of every sermon, every service, every ministry, and every event. The Gospel is the basis and the fuel for all that we do.
(John 3:16, Romans 5:8, 1 Corinthians 15:1-8)
2. The Gospel is best experienced in Community
The Gospel is best expressed through a group of people who share life together and demonstrate the love of Christ beyond the walls of their church.
(John 13:35, John 17:20-21, Acts 2:43-47)
3. Lost people matter to God
Found people find people. We believe that the church is supposed to be a hospital and not a cathedral. We put aside personal preferences to accomplish the mission of Jesus in doing whatever it takes to reach people for Christ. We are concerned with the people we are trying to reach more than the people we are trying to keep. We follow the example of Jesus to run to the broken, hurting, and lost. We know that no one is perfect and we believe that everyone is welcome.
(Luke 19:10, Mark 2:17, Luke 15, Romans 10:13-14, 2 Peter 3:9)
4. We unleash generosity
Blessed people bless people. We are a people who are generous with our time, talent, and treasure. We believe that faith and giving are connected, so we joyfully and sacrificially go above and beyond to use all that we have to participate in a movement of God.
(Proverbs 11:25, Malachi 3:8-10, Proverbs 3:9, Matthew 6:21, 2 Corinthians 9:6)
5. Closing Generational Gaps
One of our core values is that generational gaps must be bridged for the church to survive. To this end, children and teenagers are encouraged to attend our Sunday services with their parents or grandparents. Also, we will make available Bible Studies that are open to all ages so that children and teens develop relationships with other adults within the church decreasing the difficulty of the transition from youth ministries to adult ministries
(1 Timothy 5:1-2, Titus 2:1-8, Luke 1:17)
6. Encouraging and Equipping Parents
We also emphasize the importance of the parents’ role in training up their children in the ways of the Lord. We will encourage and equip parents with practical methods of teaching the Bible at home. Many of our ministries will integrate parents and their children, but some will be targeted towards the children while other towards the parents.
(Deuteronomy 5:5-7, Proverbs 22:6, Psalm 127:3-4)
7. Fathers are Key
In traditional family structures, fathers play a critical role in the spiritual development of the family. We will be intentional about reaching out to the men of our community. Once God gets a hold on the father, the family will follow. We will encourage men to reach men and hold fathers accountable for the discipleship of their families.
(Ephesians 6:4)
8. We Act In Bold Faith
Without faith, it’s impossible to please God. We will live with bold, audacious faith, set enormous goals, and make bold moves in order to see Jesus transform lives and communities. We refuse to play it safe and keep it comfortable because we believe the mission of Jesus demands bold faith. We will risk it all in order to see God move!
(2 Corinthians 3:12, Matthew 13:58, Matthew 21:21, Hebrews 11:6)
